Questa nuova edizione è, altresì, aggiornata alle varie novità normative, che hanno inciso in maniera evidente sui vari settori di competenza dell'Unione europea. Tra queste si segnalano: la firma degli accordi modificativi del Trattato che istituisce il Meccanismo europeo di stabilità (MES) da parte dei rappresentanti degli Stati membri, il 27 gennaio 2021; il regolamento UE del 17 dicembre 2020, n. 2020/2093, che stabilisce il nuovo quadro finanziario pluriennale per il periodo 2021-2027; i nuovi programmi quadro adottati in materia di ricerca e innovazione, istruzione e formazione e nel settore ambientale per allinearli con il quadro finanziario pluriennale 2021-2027.
