Cover features a vintage "horn book" design. A loose sheet "With Personal Greetings" signed by O. W. Ketcham at front of book. Text divided into three parts: 1 The Story of the House various components of the house enhanced by brickwork; 2 Molded Brick Forms; 3 Terra-Cotta Fire-Proof Materials. Book abounds with citations from prominent authors such as Walt Whitman John Greenleaf Whittier Owen Meredith John Ruskin etc. Very light bumping to corners of covers. Thin very faint three inch line page 35 from what appears to be blue pencil otherwise very good clean condition. Following the title of the volume is explanatory text that reads: "Being Some Suggestions in Brickwork from the Catalogue of O. W. Ketcham.of Philadelphia." In the Foreword the author writes that the book aims to provide "a few suggestions of what may be accomplished by the use of plain and moulded brick" i.e. molded terra-cotta. Text on title page states: "Printed by Edward Stern and Co. Incorporated Philadelphia 1899 from plates made by the Photo-Chromotype Engraving Co." A handsome beautifully designed and executed publication.
