‎Hugo Heyrman, bekend onder zijn artiestennaam Dr. Hugo Heyrman, is een vooraanstaand Belgisch schilder, filmmaker en nieuwe-mediakunstenaar. In de jaren zestig vervult Heyrman een pioniersrol wanneer hij samen met Panamarenko performances, acties en conceptuele kunst introduceert. When we assess his oeuvre spanning over half a century, its groundbreaking role is more than obvious. In the Swinging Sixties, along with Panamarenko, he introduced happenings, actions, Pop Art, and conceptual art. The early seventies saw him setting the tone with video art and the first digital experiments in the realm of art. Even in his street-life painting palette from the earliest days we can identify the cinematic zoom function an entire generation of Flemish painters emulated in the nineties. Throughout recent decades, Heyrman has been expressing himself in various media. But more than anything, there is unity in his artistic growth, a consistency that attests to an inspired visual thinking. His work consistently highlights the underlying reality of the zeitgeist. As a painter, he imparts a cinematic radiance to bodily stances and gestures in the urban landscape, making the extraordinary visible in the ordinary. From a kaleidoscopic perspective, he manages to bring together autonomy and commitment as the tangible building blocks of the ?not yet? visible. This publication showcases paintings, works on paper, studies and details, each speaking for themselves in Heyrman?s unique visual language. ‎Het is een prachtig kunstboek, Naast inleidende en verklarende teksten van J.-M. Goris, L.C. Van Dyck en H. Van der Haegen omvat het circa 240 pagina's kleurplaten, een plaatsnamen- en zakenregister, alsmede uitvoerige bijlagen. De gepubliceerde kaarten zijn de interessantste en mooiste exemplaren die aanwezig zijn in het rijke kaartenarchief van de abdij. De hier gepresenteerde kaarten hebben zowel betrekking op de hoeven, die met hun percelen en bodemgebruik worden weergegeven, als op dorpsvormen, op de ontginning van de heide, molens, wippen, schansen, staakkapellen, stadswallen en stadspoorten. Meer in het bijzonder omvat het kaartboek een verzameling van unieke en in vele gevallen onbekende documenten zoals een prachtig beeld van een turfontginning, van een schuurkerk, van de kuip van Herentals, van de doelen der Geelse schutters en van de Franse Linie. Het kaartboek lokaliseert verder een aanzienlijk aantal oude schansen en verdwenen pleinen. Met andere woorden, allerlei levensfacetten die in de 17de en 18de eeuw relevant waren voor de Kempen en die het toenmalige en gedeeltelijk ook het hedendaagse landschap vorm geven, worden in hun rijke variatie getoond. Dit kaartboek omvat overigens niet alleen kaarten van de Kempen, maar aanvullend zijn ook een aantal documenten opgenomen van Noord-Brabant, het Hageland en Haspengouw. Tenslotte omvat dit boek ruim 50 mooie, speciaal voor deze publicatie genomen foto's van hoeven, kerken en pastorieen uit de provincies Antwerpen, Noord-Brabant, Vlaams- en Waals-Brabant die elk getuigen van het doorwerken van het verleden van Tongerlo tot in de hedendaagse wereld. Tongerlo, eens de belangrijkste abdij der Nederlanden, bezat op het einde van de 18de eeuw nog meer dan 3.500 ha gronden met behorende opstallen. Het is daarom begrijpelijk dat in dit kaartboek vele plaatsen met kaarten vertegenwoordigd zijn. ‎Jan Davidsz. de Heem (Utrecht, 1606 - Antwerp, 1684) is among the very best still-life painters of the seventeenth century. He worked both in Antwerp and the Northern Netherlands, thus bringing together Flemish and Dutch painting. De Heem was a wizard with oil paint who portrayed eye-catching illusions of opulence and beauty in his many still lifes of varying sizes. In the more than five decades in which he painted, he always sought innovation in his choice of subject matter and in the breathtaking rendering of details. His still lifes take us back to the finest the seventeenth century had to offer. The Snijders House is part of the museum Snijders&Rockoxhuis in Antwerp and the former home of Frans Snijders, the Antwerp painter of still lifes, markets, animal pieces and yachts. The choise for this seventeenth-century patrician residence as an exhibition site to show masterpieces from De Heem's oeuvre is obvious.‎

Als gewaardeerd expert in de schilderkunst van de Noordelijke en de Zuidelijke Nederlanden in de zeventiende eeuw en meer bepaald gerenommeerd voor zijn onovertroffen kennis in de stillevenschilderkunst van die periode, is hij de uitgelezen curator voor deze tentoonstelling. In 2016 promoveerde hij op een monografisch proefschrift over het leven en oeuvre van Jan Davidsz. de Heem, dat gepland is om voor de opening van de tentoonstelling als boek te worden uitgegeven.‎

Another congregational mosque in the heart of the city was badly needed. This was built by Wazir Khan in 1634 during the reign of Shah Jahan. It is situated just inside Delhi Gate and is built on the site of the ancient shrine of Shaikh Ishaq Gazruni (d. 1386). The mosque is a great architectural achievement. Several early European scholars realised its importance as a glowing example of Muslim architecture and the embellishment on its walls attracted particular attention.
