The wrapper houses 6 loose deluxe card plates as issued the first two devoted to text and the last four being full-color lithograph illustrations reflecting the film story. The first cut of Stroheim's "Greed" was a mammoth 9.5-hour presentation. All that survives today is a restored slightly choppy but coherent 240-minute version supplanted with still photographs that conveys to the viewer the unimaginable grandeur of the original. Very little paper advertisement has survived. The only poster that has ever surfaced is a disappointing window card showing none of the characters and this remarkable broadside the only example we have ever encountered. 13 x 6 inches. Denmark: Zentropa Entertainments 1998. Vintage press kit for the 1998 film. Includes eight page film program plus a single-fold pamphlet and six vintage borderless color film still photographs. From the Tele Cine Documentation archive originally known as the Collection Daniel Bouteiller with their sticker and a Zentropa Productions sticker to the verso. A film in which the collective of main characters intentionally "spaz out" believing that emulating a person with a developmental disorder will relieve their inhibitions "The Idiots" understandably became the center of great controversy. The second Dogme 95 film a filmmaking philosophy spearheaded by von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg in which the filmmakers strove to shoot only on location using on-site sounds and natural lighting. Von Trier later admitted to breaching a number of these rules while filming "The Idiots" by using a stand-in for a sex scene moving various light sources and using an off-camera harmonica player to introduce music to a scene. Somerset Maugham's classic novel stars Paul Henreid as a clubfooted medical student. Eleanor Parker is Mildred the vulgar cockney waitress adored by Philip Carey Henreid. The subject matter of Maugham's novel exploring how sexual obsession can lead to ruin was missing in the 1946 version thanks to studio censors and Alexis Smith who played the second female lead said the remake should never have been produced. <br/><br/>Orange titled wrappers noted as 2nd REV FINAL on the front wrapper rubber-stamped copy No. 40 dated June 22 1944. He arrives home after a late night at the office to discover his wife has been murdered a death by asphyxiation with Wayne as the suspect. With the help psychic Julian Julian Bromberg the police investigate the murder. The psychic's motives are questionable but he says he can contact Wayne's dead wife. At a seance to reach Vivian's spirit the reluctant Wayne hears what he thinks is her voice but discovers Julian Julian in the shadows and accuses him of conspiracy.
