The Canadian Pacific Rockies : A Series of Twenty-Four Hand-Colored Vandyck Photogravures. cover title "Rocky Mountains of Canada / Hand Colored Edition" Rockies Banff C.P.R.
Banff Alberta: Byron Harmon 1920. Softcover. Very Good. Stiff card covers bound with green string oblong 8vo 8-1/4 inches tall pp. 2 24 plates printed recto only decorative title embossed onto upper cover with paste-down illustration of tipi in the mountains. The Hand Colored Edition printed in England. Cover with edge wear creasing and a small closed tear at foot of spine light soil to text leaf tiny stains verso of some plates from the then undried hand coloring of facing images. While similar to Peel 9268 this copy contains a different title page and two images not in their copy #5 & # 22. Also the text description in this copy for image # 4 in the "NOTES ON PICTURES" page lacks the updated text of the Peel 9268 copy which adds "Extensions to the hotel completed 1928". Thus an earlier state than the recorded Peel copy as the hotel "Extensions" comment has not yet been added to the text. This copy likely early 1920's. Byron Harmon paperback

Tobruk : The Great Siege Reassessed
No marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked laminated boards and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket not price clipped or marked or torn with creasing to edges. 352pp. This book is an analytical reassessment by a veteran of the campaign in the Western Desert during the Second World War. It has three principal sections, firstly the siege, in which the Australian 9th Division held out so manfully against Rommel's Afrika Korps, then the breakout, where the British 70th Division broke clear of the fortress to create a corridor towards an intended rendezvous with the Eighth Army, and finally an important appraisal of the main opponent the Allies faced - the Desert Fox, Erwin Rommel.
