Seconda edizione latina di questo importante trattato liturgico composto dal futuro papa Benedetto XIV ed inizialmente destinato alla diocesi di Bologna.

Introduzione allo spirito della liturgia
br. A suo tempo fenomeno editoriale in Germania, quest'opera ricorda nel titolo "Lo spirito della liturgia" di Romano Guardini, che nei primi decenni del Novecento dava inizio al movimento liturgico. Sulla scia di questo predecessore, Joseph Ratzinger vuole aiutare i fedeli, resi insicuri da decenni di sperimentazioni postconciliari, a guardare alla fonte nascosta della vita ecclesiale. Qui si svolge l'azione liturgica che nei sacramenti, in particolare nell'Eucarestia, dona di prendere parte all'azione salvifica di Cristo. Questa ha dimensione universale, per cui i fedeli possono dare voce alla liturgia del cosmo, unire la loro voce ai giusti dell'Antico Testamento e innalzare, insieme con i redenti, il cantico di lode dell'Agnello (Ap 15). Nello stile proprio dell'autore, l'opera apre al lettore squarci di contemplazione, ma non manca di spunti di polemica, proposti con l'abituale franchezza.
