A unique scholar's copy, it has Varille's shoulder note added in pen. Van de Walle's extensive annotations in pencil appear at bottom of first page as well as occasionally within the text. Loosely inserted there are 8 leaves of manuscript in his characteristic neat hand, apparently citing the hymns in full, stanza by stanza, as well as numerous notes and other texts, partly in hieroglyphs.
