Second and Best Edition with an engraved frontispiece mildly spotted and stained in blank margins; original tissue guard present 5 engraved plates and an engraved plan all original tissue guards present and 35 illustrations in the text; strongly rebound in twentieth century cloth gilt back a very good bright clean copy. With a neat contemporary inscription possibly in the author's hand 'To the Editor of the Worcestershire Guardian' on title. This is the finest history of the town and a substantially revised and expanded version of the author's original version of 1834. In the rebinding two decorations a pattern from an oak panel in the monastery back cover and the bell tower spires and chapter arch front cover have necessarily been lost. Scarce. Anderson p.306.
