A card - signed by the author Henry Holland in biro to both sides clearly with the hand of an elderly person - 84 years old had been attached to the title page in scotch tape sellotape - this has now disappeared but has left behind two toned ghost marks. At the tail of the title page it reads in a different hand 'visited Fleet Hants June 27th 1959'. There is a newspaper cutting regarding a trip by the author to a hospital in Pakistan - a Christmas visit sellotaped to the reverse of the half-title page - there is some sellotape ghosting to the corner. Former owner's name date and place inscription to the reverse of the front endpaper. Maps to endpapers. Eleven photographic plates as called for. A few faint marks to the front board. The wrapper has not been price-clipped. The spine of the wrapper is a little toned. There is rubbing to several corners with slight associated loss. There are around three or four short tears to several edges - now all expertly repaired. A good plus copy complete with signed card by the author in a very good minus wrapper.
