Below the image is printed "Sarony 680 Broadway N.Y." above which is written in ink "Dr. Holland" not an authentic signature. Holland 1819-1881 later known by his pseudonym "Timothy Titcomb" earned his M.D. at Berkshire Medical College tried practicing medicine at Springfield Massachusetts did some writing on the side and eventually gave up medicine in favor of editing and writing &c.
