Evidence of light moisture damage to boards a couple spots of puckered cloth stain to rear cover. Leather rubbed at extremities. Raised bands on spine ruled in gilt at top and bottom of compartments; lettering in gilt. Edges speckled red. Starting at gutters; boards secure. Each title lacking original blue wraps presumably removed for re-bind. Leaf 153 / 54 disbound from 1872 laid in. Leaf 79 / 80 of 1874 wrinkled. Occasional closed tear at margins. Otherwise internally bright and clean. An exceedingly important collection of reports which detail the beginning of Library and Archives Canada under Douglas Brymner. In addition to information pertaining to the archives each title includes sub-reports with a wealth of information on immigration prospects for immigrants and overseas response to the "call for immigrants".
