The book's provenance is documented by two owner names and dates written on the front free endpaper: A.A. Morrison 1857 and H.H. Morrison 1883. Of A.A. Morrison we learned that he was an itinerant Presbyterian minister serving congregations in Ohio and Iowa and worked as a school teacher. This period of his life 1838 to 1868 is detailed in his diary in which he also records trouble with the local Presbytery. His diary and letters from that period are in the Wichita State University Special Collections and University Archives. Genealogy records report Rev. Morrison was born in North Carolina in 1824 and died in Kansas in 1883 where he was the first presbyterian minister to hold services in Salina circa 1860. His son inherited the book in 1883 the year his father died. H.H. Morrison was Hugh Hiel Morrison 1836 to 1917 an early resident of Salina Kansas. . Joseph M. Wilson Hardcover
