Delamare, d'après J.-H. Colton. "Considérant développe son projet. Il relate son voyage et fait des descriptions du Texas qu’il présente comme la Terre promise et le lieu idéal pour l’expérimentation sociale (…). Il propose la fondation d’une agence de colonisation, suivie de la création d’un grand champ d’asile ouvert à toutes sortes d’expériences sociales, dont celles fouriéristes (…). Dès sa parution, "Au Texas" rencontra un succès immédiat qui dépassa toutes les prévisions (…).
