Characterized as "a great impostor" by an officer in the militia in which he served during the Revolutionary War it appears Taylor was involved in a variety of minor schemes and events gaining him minor notoriety in Vermont and New Hampshire. As the other concludes his contribution to the "American scene" was not of "marked importance." VERY GOOD condition. Minor staining to the covers where the staples are present in the binding.
