‎Summary Sympozjum Egejskie. Papers in Aegean Archaeology is a peer- reviewed series that has been designed to fulfil the role of a platform for presenting and introducing a wide range of new research approaches and themes within the broad area of Aegean Archaeology. This is primarily achieved through showcasing the work of newcomers to the discipline, in other words those scholars who are currently at the beginning of their research career in the field of Aegean Archaeology, as well as scholars working outside the traditional university structure such as independent scholars, professional field archaeologists, museum curators and conservators. It is our hope that this series will serve as a concise guide to the most recent research undertaken by early career scholars and the diverse and inspiring new trends in the archaeology of the Prehistoric Aegean, as well as shining a light on the future direction of the discipline. ‎STEPHANOPOLI, Dimo and Nicolo.‎

M1-Et2 Barbier IV, 1072. Blackmer II, 1020.‎

‎FACES OF POWER; Alexander's Image and Hellenistic Politics‎

‎University of California Press. 1994. Hardcover. Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket. Light edgewear and faint creasing to DJ.; Hellenistic Culture and Society; 545 pages; Alexander the Great changed the face of the ancient world. During his life and after his death his image in works of art exerted an unprecedented influence on marbles bronzes ivories frescoes mosaics coins medals even painted pottery and relief ware. Alexander's physiognomy became the most famous in history. But can we really know what meaning lies behind these images Andrew Stewart demonstrates that these portraits wildly divergent in character quality type provenance date and purpose actually transmit not so much a likeness of Alexander as a set of carefully crafted cliches that mobilize the notion "Alexander" for diverse ends and diverse audiences. Stewart discusses the portraits as studies in power and his original interpretation of them gives unprecedented fullness and shape to the idea and image called "Alexander." . 0520068513 . ‎This Rough Magic‎

‎Echoes of Shakespeare's "Tempest" resonate through this romantic adventure on Corfu. "When Lucy Waring came to Corfu to visit her sister Phyllida Ford, she was elated to discover that the castello above their villa had been rented to Sir Julian Gale. A very minor cog in the London theatre, Lucy not unnaturally felt something close to reverence for Sir Julian, one of the brilliant lights in England"s theatre world. But any hopes of meeting him was quickly dashed by Phyl, who indicated, with uncharacteristic vagueness, that not all was well with the great man and that his composer son, Max, discouraged visitors, particularly strangers. Thus begins a series of mystifying and thoroughly frightening events which tinge the otherwise sparkling setting of Corfu with the dark hues of violence."
