These works were assembled and published by his nephew P. Malatret and Antoine Augustin Parmentier. 2 tables at end of volume 1. Contemporary half blonde sheep binding. Smooth spine decorated with 4 small fleurons and roulettes. Red morocco title-label volume numbering in wax faded on volume 1. Head of volume 1 cut down that of volume 2 with slight lack. A lack on the foot of both volumes. Upper joint of volume 2 split and open at foot for 15 cm the lower joint narrowly cracked in part. Upper joint of volume 1 split at head and foot lower joint narrowly cracked at foot. Foxing on endpapers pale scattered foxing in upper margin. Among the texts and articles the Researches on tin occupy the major part of the second volume. We should also distinguish the Analysis of the waters of Luchon which occupies more than 200 pages. Through his experiments and his texts Pierre Bayen apothecary and chemist remained the great opponent of the phlogistic theory whose validity he doubted a theory almost sovereign in chemistry in this late eighteenth century. De l'électricité du corps humain 6 folding plates at the end of volume 2. De l'électricité des végétaux: 3 folding plates at the end and one folding plate of plant diseases. De l'électricité des météores: 6 folding plates at the end of volume 2. All plates contain multiple figures notably on the effect of lightning on the ocean volcanoes experiments on the human body. Contemporary full speckled tan sheep binding. Raised band spine with decoration. Black sheep title and volume labels. One wormhole on the last compartment of volume 1. Surface wear on the lower board of volume 2. A small lack in the tail compartment of volume 2. Scratches on the lower board of Végétaux. Title label of Végétaux with rubbing. 8 corners bumped. In volume 1 of Corps humain wide track of 2cm up to page 50. Fresh throughout. A good copy. Throughout Europe the physicist's work on electricity was acclaimed and translated. His presentations are indeed clear enhanced with personal observations and experiments. In each of the fields addressed within the domain of electricity each work forms a compendium of contemporary knowledge. If the physicist's name was fairly quickly forgotten compared to that of his colleague Abbé Nollet it is simply because the latter demonstrated more entertaining pedagogy and scientific popularization while Bertholon's work is that of a scientist. Cioranescu only mentions Les Chroniques historiques by Boitel. Contemporary full parchment binding with overlapping flaps. Unlettered spine. Historian poet and polemicist of the first half of the 17th century very little is known about this figure he wrote le théâtre du malheur collecting various accidents that occurred in the lives of illustrious figures chroniques historiques and a history of France from 1610 to 1620. This work is a historical collection divided into 3 parts the first relating the stratagems of figures from Antiquity the second inventions and the last subtleties. One finds therein a wealth of rare information about scholars of Antiquity and historical figures. The whole is related in a style reminiscent of Plutarch. Chez Toussaint du Bray unknown
