As first principal he chose the faculty began recruiting students and planned the curriculum for the normal school. He started the model training school in 1890. Bold full signature in black ink on a buff heavy stock 5�" X 3�" penny postcard n.p. n.y. postal cancellation 20 October 1937. Near fine. Dewey signs the blank lower left corner of a typed signature request from future noted Lincoln and Civil War scholar Arnold F. Gates 1914-93 of Cleveland Ohio. Writing Dewey as New York City prosecutor Gates notes: "After reading a great deal about your great work in New York I am taking the liberty of asking for your autograph" -- adding earnestly "Please send it to me for my small collection surely needs it!" Accompanied by a superb glossy 9" X 7" black and white news agency photograph International News Photos depicting a smiling Dewey standing alongside his wife as she signed a large open book on a table. Original mimeographed paper label neatly affixed to verso dates this image 6 October 1951 and titles it "Governor's Lady Insures Eligibility to Vote" describing the scene: "Mrs. Thomas E. Dewey is shown signing the book as she registered at Public School 18 this morning. Looking on are Governor Dewey and election board chairman." On offer is a super manuscript relic of 18th Century religious devotion being a vellum covered notebook titled 'Memoria' handwritten by Carlo Antonio Di Cesare a Jesuit in Naples between 1744 and 1764. Superbly intimate look into the life of this Catholic man using the book as a 'vade mecum' or catchall thusly a diary of notes detailing the life of this Jesuit scholar: it begins with his graduation into the Congregazione de' studenti sotto la protezzione dell'Annunciata of the Jesuit College Ges� Vecchio in Naples to study 'Logic' under Professore Giuseppe Guidone. On 24 November 1744 he passes his exam Confessione generale di tutta la vita and joins a Rosicrucian Brotherhood. The origin of Poiesis springs from the desire to provide those who cherish an interest in the study of Greek and Byzantine poetry with a tool to search for relevant information enabling readers to undertake a preliminary selection of material to be utilized and also facilitating in-depth study and further research. The Journal offers a yearly survey of all publications in the field of antiquities books journals dissertations miscellanies that are totally or partly devoted to authors and themes of Greek poetry. A fairly extensive article is dedicated to each cited publication from book-length works to brief notes of text criticism thereby enabling readers to gain a clear understanding of the content of the individual studies. The decision to restrict the scope of inquiry to poetry is motivated by the historical distinction between prose and verse that embodies the essence of the literary system in ancient Greece where the canon of the genera is founded on the difference between forms.
