Nel marzo del 1799, venne rappresentato nel Burgtheatre sempre in Vienna con un'orchestra di 120 elementi e 60 cantanti. Una traduzione italiana ad opera del Carpani data il 1825.

Despite critical acclaim the performance was not well-attended - a major financial setback for the composer. With origins all the way back to 1899 the composer put together two suites of three numbers each in 1911-1912. Each was given its premiere with the composer directing the Helsinki Philharmonic and subsequently published with widely-spaced opus numbers in 1912 and 1913.
