Édition originale. 14 planches h. t. rehaussées de couleurs dont une dépliante, 6 tableaux dépliants, dont le dernier non numéroté, un tableau très grand replié (50 x 65 cm) : « Anatomie végétale ». Charles François Brisseau de Mirbel (1776-1854) d'abord Intendant des Jardins de la Malmaison, et Professeur au Muséum d'histoire naturelle et à la Faculté des sciences de Paris, a la réputation d'avoir été le plus habile et le plus ingénieux des botanistes-anatomistes français du début du 19e s. Il est considéré comme le fondateur de l'anatomie végétale microscopique. Son Traité d'anatomie et de physiologue végétale publié en 1802, le rendit célèbre dans l'Europe entière.
