Prima edizione di questo curioso libello scientifico che tratta di un inspiegabile avvenimento avvenuto in mesopotamia nel 1865 in particolare nel villaggio di Scheid Duzi nel Kurdistan. In un giorno piovoso caddero dal cielo degli strani oggetti "piovve colà una gran copia di corpicciuoli solidi, duri, rotondeggianti, leggeri, simili in digrosso a concrezioni inorganiche, di superficie grossamente pieghettata e rugosa, quasi cerebriforme... Il loro sapor è mucilaginoso scipito.... si tagliano facilemente con il coltello ....". Sembra che si trattasse di qualche forma di lichene. L'autore descrive poi minuziosamente altri avenimenti simili avvenuti e documentati in anni precedenti. Esemplare in buone condizioni.
