Con due tavole fuori testo, più volte ripiegate, intitolate "Tavola dei nomi delle classi, e ordini" e "Chiave del metodo botanico sessuale di Carlo Linneo". Nel margine esterno del foglio ospitante le pagine 135-136, strappo di 3 cm senza perdite, molto lontano dal testo, rimarginato da vecchio intervento di restauro. Qualche piccolo, leggero alone d'umido nel bordo inferiore di alcune pagine, molto lontano dal testo; alle pagine 195-232, nel margine inferiore, alone un po' più pronunciato nel colore e nelle dimensioni: si presenta infatti in una colorazione marrone chiaro e, più contenuto alle prime e alle ultime pagine interssate, raggiunge i 4,5 cm di larghezza per 1,5 cm di altezza, estendendosi verso l'alto partendo dal bordo inferiore del foglio, alle pagine 213-214: si tenga conto che anche in questo caso il testo è molto lontano, distando l'ultima riga impressa 5,5 cm dal bordo inferiore del foglio. Soc. di Londra, dell'Inst. di Bologna, e della Società Botanica di Firenze, ec. Traduzione dallo Spagnuolo. Casimiro Gomez Ortega (1741-1818) è stato un botanico, medico, farmacista e poeta spagnolo. Dopo i primi studi a Madrid e Barcellona, proseguì la sua formazione a Bologna (1758-1762), dove si addottorò in Filosofia e Medicina. Tornato a Madrid nel 1762, lavorò come farmacista. Nel 1771 fu nominato, provvisoriamente, primo professore del Reale Orto Botanico di Madrid: l'anno seguente si aggiudicò il posto in via definitiva, occupandolo fino al 1801. Il suo contributo fu decisivo per il trasferimento, nel 1781, del Reale Orto Botanico dalla Huerta de Migas Calientes alla sede attuale, nel Salón del Prado. Fu in stretti rappoti con i maggiori botanici del suo tempo, in particolare con quelli stranieri, di alcuni dei quali tradusse le opere in castigliano. Sotto la sua guida, il Giardino Botanico si arricchì di moltissime specie; medico di Camera e farmacista del re, membro di numerose società scientifiche e letterarie, ricopri importanti posizioni in spedizioni scientifiche organizzate dal governo spagnolo. In particolare, organizzò e diresse i viaggi dei botanici Hipólito Ruiz e José Pavón in Perù e Cile (1777-1788), quello di Juan Cuellar nelle Filippine (1786-1801) e quello di Martin de Sessé e Vicente Cervantes nella Nuova Spagna (1787-1803). Curò un'edizione spagnola della Philosophia Botanica di Linneo (1792) e fu autore di numerosi e importanti contributi scientifici, alcuni dei quali furono tradotti in altre lingue.
