It is rich in scientific and botanical details accompanied by superb color illustrations and with vast analytical indexes. The text is in French. No ownership marks and almost no signs of use. (14), 218, (2); (4), 211, (2) con 40 belle tavole finemente incise in rame, da Gaetano Riboldi su disegno di Giuseppe Levati, su carta forte, di cui 10 più volte ripiegate. Il testo illustra i giardini italiani su ispirazione dei parchi inglesi. Tra gli altri, Villa Silva di Cinisello (dell'autore), Villa Cusani di Desio, Villa Reale di Monza, i giardini del Palazzo di Belgioioso a Milano, ecc. Alcuni margini con lievi fioriture. La tavola xxx del secondo volume, "La grotta" è stata inserita a p.163 anzichè p.122 (come da indice) e numerata erroneamente come tavola xii. L'opera fresca e in ottime condizioni è completa di tutte le tavole</p>

Cm. 21,5, pp. 274. Legatura ottocentesca in mezza percallina con piccole punte. Sguardie posteriori, qualche fioritura, peraltro esemplare genuino ed in buono stato di conservazione. Prima edizione, molto rara, della prima classificazione organica delle piante della flora delle Alpi Apuane della Versilia. Il Simi (Ripa di Seravezza, 1820-Levigliani, frazione di Stazzemi, Lucca, 1875) fu botanico, naturalista ed imprenditore del marmo, nonché alpinista dilettante, (nel 1844 prese parte alla prima ascensione della Pania della Croce e fu poi fra i primi soci della sezione fiorentina del C.A.I.). Scopritore (o primo visitatore) dell'Antro del Corchia, compose anche un Prodomo della fauna della Versilia rimasto inedito fino al 1991. Esemplare appartenuto (timbro di possesso) a Giovanni Arcangeli (Firenze, 1840-Pisa, 1921), botanico fra i maggiori dell'Italia del tempo
