An die Redaktion der "Österreichischen Kunst-Chronik": "Ich habe weder Sie ersucht mir Ihr werthes Journal zu senden, noch habe ich die Absicht zu pränumeriren, denn ich hätte weder genügend Geld um auf alle Journale zu pränumeriren, welche mir Probe No. zusenden, noch habe ich die Zeit jeder Redaktion anzuzeigen, daß ich nicht Abnehmer seyn kann [...]". - Der Sohn eines Hofdekorationsmalers Andreas Geyling und Vetter des Malers Geyling studierte an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien, wo er sich vorwiegend zum Landschaftsmaler ausbildete. "1834 entstand sein Ölbild 'Donaugegend'. Nach einem Studienaufenthalt in Italien 1839 erhielt Geyling den Auftrag, Glastüren mit gemalten Landschaften für Laxenburg herzustellen, und unternahm zahlreiche Versuche in der Technik der Glasmalerei. 1841 gründete er eine Glasmalereifirma, erhielt 1843 eine Medaille für die Erzeugung von Mousselin- und Spitzenglas und schuf 1846 drei Glasgemälde nach Kartons von Ludwig Schnorr von Carolsfeld für die Landhauskapelle in Wien. 1858-79 entstanden Glasgemälde für den Stephansdom und für die Votivkirche" (DBE). - Papierbedingt etwas gebräunt und gering fleckig.

Although the unnamed role is "in itself insignificant", Gheusi had the recipient's name placed next to that of the soprano Marthe Chenal, who created a leading role, so that the public and professionals would immediately notice her: "Le rôle des 4 Journées est insignifiant en soi ; mais j'ai tenu à faire inscrire votre nom auprès de celui de Mlle Chenal, dans une grande création. Ainsi, vous serez tout de suite signalée aux musiciens et au public". - Pierre-Barthélemy Gheusi was director of the Opéra-Comique from 1914 to 1918 and again from 1932 to 1936. - On stationery with embossed letterhead of the Opéra-Comique. Ghys is nevertheless offering to limit himself to 80 florim this time: "Ne partant que le mardi au mercredi prochain, je viens vous demander s'il peut vous êtes agréable que je donne un dernier concert Lundi. Leaves uniformly shaded traces of former pasted mounts on verso. A photographic reproduction of the famous composer's portrait is enclosed. Puccini responds to a patron's request to have La Bohème performed at a charity event: ""Io non ho niente in contrario che la Bohème venga eseguita per una sera corta a scopo benefico."" I have no problem with La Bohème being performed for a charity event. ""Credo pero che sarebbe bene avere anche la adesione della Casa Ricordi proprietaria dello spartito."" I believe however that it would be good to have the authorization of Casa Ricordi Puccini's publishing house owner of the score. Despite the failure of the first performance on February 1 1896 La Bohème subsequently enjoyed worldwide success rapidly becoming one of the finest operas in the Romantic repertoire. A fine tribute to the triumph of one of the greatest composers of the late 19th-century. unknown

Giampietro, Joseph, Schauspieler (1866-1913).
Albumblatt mit eigenh. Widmung und U. Wien, März 1898.
65 x 105 mm. "Zur freundlichen Erinnerung". - Seit 1886 als jugendlicher Held und Liebhaber am Deutschen Theater in Budapest tätig, stand Giampietro anschließend in Bozen, Meran, Salzburg und Karlsbad auf der Bühne und folgte 1888 einem Ruf an das neu gegründete Deutsche Volkstheater in seiner Heimatstadt. Später wechselte er zur Operette, sang am Theater an der Wien, wurde 1900 an das Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg verpflichtet, trat seit 1901 am Neuen Theater in Berlin auf und feierte später am Metropol-Theater große Erfolge.

Zusammen 5½ SS. auf Doppelblättern. 4to. Ein Br. mit eh. Adresse. An den Mediziner Rudolf Rt. von Vivenot (1807-1884): „Meiner gegenwärtigen Angelegenheiten wegen muß ich Ihre Freundschaft und Ihres Vaters Güte in Anspruch nehmen. Sie wissen, daß ich den dritten Concurs für die Lehrkanzel der gerichtlichen Medicin und der medizinischen Polizey vor einigen Monathen bestanden habe. Der Vorschlag ist nun nach Wien geschickt worden, und es handelt sich jetzt, daß die medicinisch-chirurgische Facultät und die Studien-Hof-Commission ein mir ganz günstiges Urtheil aussprechen und dieses die noch höheren Behörden bestätigen. Ich bitte also Sie und Ihren gütigen und teilnehmenden Vater herzlich, alle Gelegenheiten zu suchen, und alle möglichen Wege einzuschlagen [...]“ (Br. v. 1. X. 1829). - Der Br. vom 31. III. 1831 in italienischer Sprache. - Gianelli war seit 1830 Professor der gerichtlichen Medizin und Medicinal-Polizei an der Universität Padua. - Rudolf Rt. von Vivenot gründete 1848 den "Konstitutionell-monarchistischen Verein"; als sich die angestrebte Gründung einer patriotischen Partei nicht verwirklichen ließ, zog er sich jedoch aus der aktiven Politik zurück. Seit 1868 Mitglied der Deutschen Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina, wurde er 1872 Vorsitzender des Komitees zur Gründung des Sophienspitals in Wien; daneben war Vivenot Direktor des Unterstützungsvereins für Witwen und Waisen des medizinischen Doktor-Collegiums. - In altem Sammlungsumschlag.

1 S. 4to. An die Freifrau von Miltitz in Dresden, der er für die Begleichung einer offenen Rechnung dankt: „Als ich im Jänner in Dresden war würde [ich] mir gerne die Ehre verschafft haben Ew. Hochgeborner persönlich mich vorzustellen da [ich] aber von Herrn Andreae von dero Krankheit unterrichtet war so mußte [ich] darauf verzichten [...]“. - Giani war Inhaber einer Fabrik zu Herstellung von religiösen Gebrauchsgegenständen. - Auf Briefpapier mit gepr.
