However the newspaper article from the Winston-Salem Journal and Sentinel August 11 1957 notes that "Miss Flossie Martin a teacher in the Davie County Consolidated High School and Miss Mary Jane Heitman a Davie County historian helped him with the historical sketches." This was his co-worker Albert Coates who was a professor at UNC. The only copyright date in the book is 1941 but the presence of an ISBN suggests that this book was printed about 1970 or later. This book is about House's youth in Halifax County North Carolina around 1900. House was Executive Secretary of UNC from 1926 to 1934.
