Evidently the work of an enthusiastic amateur these drawings are of more than routine interest as they appear to be caricatures of actual people. In one of them a group of hunters are conversing with several gunners including a carefully depicted sportsman in French military uniform who appears to be somebody of importance and other scenes show an equal attention to local physiognomies. A very pleasing evocation of late Victorian characters and sport. unknown books
