Notons seulement sa pédagogie : chaque thématique, illustrée par des gravures concrètes, est développée (cf. Préface) sous la forme de dialogues entre "un jeune homme de qualité" (le chevalier du Breuil), et "un gentilhomme" (le comte de Jouval) ami de son père, chez qui il se trouve en vacances à la campagne, qu'enrichissent les interventions de la comtesse et du curé-prieur du lieu. Coiffes supérieures arrachées aux tomes 1 et 8-1, fragile au tome 3, coiffes inférieures arrachées au tome 1 et 8-2, mors fendus aux tomes 1 et 8-2, coins corrects ou légèrement émoussés, trou de vers apparent au dos du tome 8-2, petit manque de papier en coin de la page 203 du tome 1, bon intérieur.
