Ils ont été traduits en géorgien par Ephrem Mtsiré (Ephrem le Petit), dans le dernier quart du XIe s., dans le complexe monastique de la Montagne Noire, près d'Antioche. Cette version n'est conservée que par un unique manuscrit géorgien, daté de 1800 et marqué par des particularités orthographiques exceptionnelles liées à la réforme linguistique engagée par le catholicos Anton Ier. Celles-ci s'ajoutent aux caractères déjà complexes de la langue de traduction d'Ephrem. Le volume présente la première édition critique de ces textes. Celle-ci se base sur une étude de la réforme d'Anton Ier, de manière à pouvoir remonter à l'état du texte tel que produit par Ephrem. Elle s'appuie également sur une comparaison approfondie avec le texte grec tel qu'il est connu aujourd'hui. ‎* Erste Ausgabe. Sehr selten ! Beileigen: Drei gefaltete Originalzeitungen in Griechisch "Santorini Efimeris Efdomatdiaia" aus dem Jahr 1897 --- Ioannis, oftmals auch Johannes K. Mitsotakis (1839?1905) war ein griechischer Publizist, Schriftsteller, Übersetzer und Sprachlehrer. Nach einem (wahrscheinlich unabgeschlossenen) Studium der Medizin in Athen, Paris und München kam der gebürtige Kreter 1874 nach Berlin, wo er zunächst als freier Journalist und Übersetzer arbeitete. 1882 veröffentlichte er die Anthologie Ausgewählte griechische Volksmärchen. Für die deutsche Jugend bearbeitet, die in den folgenden Jahren (1884/89) wiederholt neu aufgelegt wurde (in der 3. Aufl. mit dem Untertitel: Für das deutsche Volk bearbeitet). In den folgenden Jahren trat Mitsotakis nicht nur als Übersetzer griechischer Literatur (A. R. Rangavis: 1895, 1898), sondern auch als Literat in deutscher Sprache (1898, 1910?) hervor. Neben seiner publizistisch-schriftstellerischen Tätigkeit war Mitsotakis auch als Privatlehrer der neugriechischen Sprache tätig. Zu seinen berühmtesten Schülern zählten der damalige Erbprinz und spätere Herzog Bernhard III. von Sachsen Meiningen, der später selbst als Übersetzer klassischer deutscher Dramen von Lessing und Schiller ins Griechische auftrat, sowie die Prinzessin Sophie von Preußen, die sich im Herbst 1888 mit dem griechischen Kronprinzen und späteren König Konstantin verlobte. Seinen hervorragenden gesellschaftlichen Verbindungen verdankte es Mitsotakis offenbar, dass er am Berliner Seminar für Orientalische Sprachen eingestellt wurde, wo er zwischen 1887 und 1905 als erster Lektor der neugriechischen Sprache wirkte. Im Zuge dieser Lehrtätigkeit veröffentlichte er in den kommenden Jahren eine neugriechische Grammatik (1891), einen Sprachführer (1892), eine Chrestomathie (1895) sowie ein Taschenwörterbuch der neugriechischen Umgangs- und Schriftsprache, das zwischen 1905 und 1933 mehrere Neuauflagen erfuhr. Zu seinen Schülern gehörten u. a. der Philologe Albert Thumb sowie der Neogräzist Karl Dieterich, die beide später ihre Neugriechisch-Studien in München bei Karl Krumbacher fortsetzten.
