Very minor edgewear to the extremities. A couple tiny ink spots to both sides of the spine. -- Overall a clean tight sound copy. Major League Baseball Player. Nicknamed "Prince Hal" during his career he played Major League Baseball as a pitcher for thirteen seasons 1931 to 1942 1946 with the New York Giants. He was selected to National League All-Star teams 1933 and 1935 played in three World Series 1933 against the Washington Senators 1936 and 1937 both against the New York Yankees and won 23 games in 1934. A good copy. Signed and inscribed by Hamidullah in Ottoman Turkish, to Kemaleddin Kuscu, in Istanbul. A comprehensive biography of Sahifah Hammam ibn Munabbih, (15-101 AH). Munabbih is sometimes quoted as one of the earliest surviving hadith collections compiled by Islamic Scholar Hammam ibn Munabbih. Generally considered to be the oldest surviving book of hadith, it is found in various Oriental manuscript libraries and a printed version is widely available. It was composed by 8th century scholar Hammam ibn Munabbih. It has been translated, in the 20th century, by Muhammad Hamidullah. Two copies of Sahifa Hammam bin Munabbih manuscript were discovered; one in a Damascus library and the other in a library in Berlin. Dr. Hamidullah published it after carefully comparing the two manuscripts. Hammam bin Munabbih (b. 19h) was a disciple of Abu Hurairah. It was generally known that the Sahifah had been completely included in the Musnad Ahmad. (Wikipedia).

The studies he made of Islamic, Seljuk, and, especially, Ottoman art and architecture, as well as of Byzantine art; the classes he taught at the universities of Vienna and Munich on these topics; and the countless study trips he made around the Eastern Mediterranean, including to Istanbul and Anatolia, made him an expert in the field of architecture, especially in the systematic documentation of buildings. "Archival Memories" on the one hand informs viewers about how a researcher organized his working day, how he systematically allotted his time, and what methods he used in the pre-digital age. On the other hand, it aims to present from retrospective perspectives the states of numerous cultural assets, most of which remain today only as memories within urban structures.

Starting from Spring 2014, VEKAM organizes an international symposium once a year on Cultural Encounters in Anatolia in the Medieval Period. After the Georgian Empire and the Ilkhanids this year's theme is on "Italians in Anatolia during 12th and 15th Centuries" (Istanbul excluded). The symposium held on May 13th, 2016 at the premises of VEKAM in Ankara/ Turkey. "The Mongol victory over the Seljuks in 1243, the Mongol sack of Baghdad in 1258, which led to the commercial rise of Tabriz, and the rapprochement between Cilician Armenia and the Mongols resulted in a shift of the trade route across Anatolia. Ayas in Cilician Armenia replaced Antalya as its Mediterranean outlet. Mongol rule also furthered trade between Tabriz and the Black Sea port of Trebizond. It is along these itineraries that Italian merchants travelled to and from Mongol territories, as illustrated by the journeys of the father and uncle of Marco Polo and of Marco himself in the second half of the 13th Century. At Ayas on the shore of Cilicia Venice received trading privileges in 1261, well after Genoa's first treaty with the Armenian kingdom (1201). The Venetian element in Ayas' foreign merchant community grew with the general increase in the intensity of trade and with the inception of the state galley run or incanto. But international trading activity at Ayas, and the use of the tracks to Sivas, seems to have been cut short by the Mamluks' acquisition of the port in 1337...".
