R. & J. Hill 1930s. Very Good Plus. No date but c. 1930s printed in France released and distributed in the UK. Vintage pinup trading cards small b/w erotic and glamour photographs originally issued in packs of cigarettes the maker's tobacconist imprint on the verso of the cards. Often would there be space on the verso for cigarette ads as well but just as often that space is seen blank. Here the ad is for "London Idol" cigarettes. Akin to tobacco baseball cards produced in the US during the same time only real photographs and crisper production values. Attractive models in storytelling almost flip-book style in image composition and one model might comprise a full 42 cards of any series. Seen are a handful of different scenes and mostly set at the beach. Complete 42 cards 16mo about 1.5 x 2.5 inches small white borders b/w photography both sides printed. Most of the psychological examnation probably appears pretty self evident to us today but the number of professional people seriously examining sexuality in the 1950's was comparatively low.
