Come le precedenti poesie il poemetto è ricco di biblico eco. Avrai in me un sostenitore vivo: penso che un altro possa essere Pampaloni. Meno certo sarei di Moretti […] non saprei Raimondi. […] La cosa sarà discussa di luglio: per ora i testi non sono nemmeno arrivati […]”.

Diario di viaggio in versi: Betocchi scrive nove poesie su altrettante tappe del suo tragitto in treno verso Cosenza per poi concludere con «Ritorno a Firenze» nella sezione «Conclusione del viaggio».
