"En recherchant les faits relatifs" au Traité avec l'Angleterre, "elle a dû se préoccuper des résultats de celui qui fut conclu en 1786, par M. de Vergennes. Elle a trouvé, dans ses archives, un mémoire remarquable sur ce sujet ; il fut présenté au premier Consul en 1802 (28 floréal an 10), par les prédécesseurs des membres de la Chambre de Commerce." ...
