[signatures : ² A -5Y (Yyyyy blanc) ] Rare exemplaire de l'édition originale, qui sera traduite en français par Tournet sous le titre des "Trois Livres de la Police Ecclésiastique en laquelle est amplement traité des Droits Royaux selon l'usage des Cours de France, sur les personnes & biens des Ecclésiastiques". Jurisconsulte mais aussi poète, René Choppin (1537-1606) fut anobli par Heni III en reconnaissance de ses trois traités défendant les droits de la Couronne de France. "René Chopin était né à Bailleul près la Flèche en Anjou [... ] Il fut très occupé pendant sa vie ; il publia beaucoup de bons ouvrages [... ] Mais il fut ligueur et très-entêté ligueur : cependant il avait été bien traité par Henri III, qui l'avait anobli en 1578 à cause de ses traités du domaine et de la police ecclésiastique" (Camus & Dupin, p. 242). Etat très satisfaisant (reliure frottée avec mq. en coiffes et accrocs en dos et plats, restauration au feuillet de titre affectant lég. le texte, restauration aux 3 derniers feuillets n'affectant pas le texte, le cahier 4A placé devant le cahier 3Y, cachet d'ex-libris "Bibliothèque André Bizouillier").
