Sin dall'antichità le feste erano dei giorni destinati al festeggiamento di ricorrenze religiose, con una parte "sacra" e una parte "profana", una parte dedicata alla commemorazione del santo e un'altra piena di divertimenti per tutti. Fotografando queste processioni in Sicilia, Bartolo Chichi non ha potuto fare a meno di notare delle differenze. Ma è rimasto colpito dalle somiglianze. Gli interessa sottolineare ciò che accomuna tutti i siciliani durante le processioni, osservando la gente. Per quanto possiamo apparire diversi, abbiamo tutti aspirazioni simili nei confronti delle persone e proviamo le stesse emozioni: dolore, gioia, paura, ansia, tristezza. Con l'augurio che le immagini di questo libro catturino l'attenzione delle persone e non ci facciano mai dimenticare da dove proveniamo.
