24 vols., 8vo., First Edition; decorative black cloth, upper boards and backstrips blocked and lettered in gilt and red, red tops, red endpapers, red lettering on backstrips heavily faded on only three volumes, an unusually bright, clean, crisp set in unclipped dustwrapper. A notably bright, clean set of the definitive collected edition, including the author's short stories, issued on a subscription basis by the publisher and not available through bookshops. Each volume contains three stories or story collections. It would seem that many subscribers may have lacked commitment during the four years of publication for complete sets are far less common than one might imagine. The attractive bindings incorporate a golden dagger. The dustwrappers feature an attractive design format with every volume carrying a striking illustration symbolising one of the stories therein (without plot spoilers!) but were less successful in production terms for the backstrips in particular are notoriously prone to fading (the present set is far better than many). Romanzo di quest'A, biografo di Antonio Gramsci, opera che trae spunto dal realismo sardo della Deledda. Racconta le vicende del pastore ragazzo Zuanne Malune, detto Soneta'ula ('perche' ogni colpo dato a lui, dicevano i compagni per ridere, faceva sonu 'e ta'ula, rumore di legna'), percorrendo tra il 1937 e il 1950 le tappe dell'educazione alla vita tipiche del banditismo sardo. Raro.

Alcune pieghe agli angoli. Questo reportage realizzato dal giornalista Vittorio Lojacono e dal fotografo Gabriele Milani, venne pubblicato sulla Domenica del Corriere il 2 aprile 1967. E' considerato ancora oggi uno dei grandi scoop del giornalismo italiano. Fotografia di grande valore simbolico, possibile ritratto di tutti i ribelli di ogni tempo e ogni luogo. Una immagine che umanizza il bandito, lo emenda e lo consegna al mito.

Al di la' della nota apposta da un ignoto cronista, l'immagine scattata in Sardegna negli anni che vedono Graziano Mesina latitante in Barbagia, sembra raccontare una comunanza di disgraziati davanti a un fuoco piu' che una guerra di uno stato storicamente invasore dell'isola.

Silver print cm 22 x18. Graziano Mesina nello studio del questore di Nuoro, ammanettato e al centro di due ali di poliziotti in posa. E' il 23 marzo 1968: i giornali e la televisione in bianco e nero celebrano la vittoria sul bandito simbolo di indomita ribellione che ora lancia proclami ai suoi compagni affinche liberino gli ostaggi ancora nelle loro mani. Otto anni dopo fuggira' dal carcere di massima sicurezza di Lecce ridando nuova forza a un mito.

Testimonianza dell?attivita' di Danilo Dolci, sociologo e attivista della nonviolenza che opero' in Sicilia a Borgetto (Palermo) e si impegno' nella creazione della struttura socio assistenziale Borgo di Dio. Il 2 febbraio 1956 ha luogo a Partinico lo sciopero alla rovescia. Alla base c'e' l'idea che, se un operaio, per protestare, si astiene dal lavoro, un disoccupato puo' scioperare invece lavorando. Cosi' centinaia di disoccupati si organizzano per riattivare pacificamente una strada comunale abbandonata; ma i lavori vengono fermati dalla polizia e Dolci, con alcuni suoi collaboratori, viene arrestato. L'episodio suscita indignazione nel Paese, e provoca numerose interrogazioni parlamentari. Dolci venne successivamente scagionato, dopo un processo che ebbe enorme risalto sulla stampa: a difenderlo fu il giurista Piero Calamandrei. Ritorna anche in questa pubblicazione l'eco di un utilizzo dell'immagine fatto da Dolci nel suo primo libro del 1954 (Fare presto e bene?).

Graziano Mesina intento a caricare il fucile mitragliatore fotografato durante l'incontro che Gabriele Milani e il giornalista Vittorio Lojacono ebbero nella primavera del 1967 con il bandito di Orgosolo. Dopo settimane di tentativi andati a vuoto, i due inviati del Corriere della sera riuscirono a ottenere un'intervista con il latitante piu' ricercato d'Italia. Su Mesina pendeva una taglia di 10 milioni di lire. Questa intervista e' considerata come uno dei piu' importanti scoop giornalistici di tutti i tempi. Il reportage venne pubblicato sulla Domenica del Corriere del 2 aprile 1967.
