Häussermann über den Komplex Salzburg reden [...]". - Vom Theater herkommend - wo 1927 Erich Mühsams Drama "Staatsräson" über die 1927 in den USA hingerichteten italienischen Anarchisten Sacco und Vanzetti eine seiner ersten Regiearbeiten war -, wandte sich Lindtberg nach 1935 verstärkt dem Film zu, ehe er 1953 erneut am Theater inszenierte (darunter am Wiener Burgtheater, wo er seit 1956 fest verpflichtet war). Er schrieb zahlreiche Hörspielbearbeitungen von Bühnenstücken für den Rundfunk und war Dozent an der Piscator-Schule in Berlin, am Wiener Reinhardt-Seminar und an der Univ. Zürich. - Erik Frey wurde 1935 von Max Reinhardt ans Theater in der Josefstadt verpflichtet, wo er bis zu seinem Tod auftreten sollte. Zu den bekanntesten seiner über 70 Filmrollen zählen Auftritte in Filmen von G. W. Pabst ("Der Prozeß" [1948], "Der letzte Akt" [1955] und "Es geschah am 20. Juli" [1955]), Wolfgang Liebeneiner ("1. Hier heißt es zu diesem Blatt: ?Als Vorbild zu diesem Farbholzschnitt dürfte Liner das 1890 entstandene Gemälde ?Frau mit Geisen in den Dünen? von Max Liebermann gedient haben, das 1891 auf der Münchner Jahresausstellung im Glaspalast vom Künstler erworben wurde und seither in der Neuen Pinakothek gezeigt wird. Wie Liebermanns Gemälde wirkt auch Liners Farbholzschnitt wie eine Momentaufnahme und gibt einen guten Eindruck vom Appenzeller Alltagsleben, das zu Beginn des 20. Seine größte Popularität aber sicherte sich der Schauspieler durch Auftritte in über 150 Filmen; daneben war er als Regisseur tätig, schrieb Lustspiele und Autobiographisches (‘Ich über mich’, 1963; ‘Ich bewundere’, 1969, und ‘Das kann doch nicht wahr sein’, 1974).

Design Vlaanderen organiseert in 2008 voor de vijfde keer de Triennale voor Vormgeving, een prestigieuze tentoonstelling in de Koninklijke Musea voor Kunst en Geschiedenis te Brussel, die Vlaams design op de voorgrond plaatst aan de hand van een gekozen thema. Voor deze editie werd gekozen voor het thema schoonheid. In dit boek, dat gebaseerd is op de tentoonstelling in het KMSK, worden een aantal artikels opgenomen over schoonheid en wordt een overzicht gegeven van de deelnemende ontwerpers. Schoonheid wordt onderzocht aan de hand van stoelen en schalen, te beginnen bij een archetype van deze objecten, en eindigend bij zeer uitbundig uitgewerkte of atypische stoelen en schalen. Deze selectie wordt aangevuld met een beperkt aantal andere objecten. Op die manier wordt de eenheid en de heterogeniteit van schoonheid op de voorgrond geplaatst. Verder wordt hedendaags design geconfronteerd met historische stukken, uitgekozen door Belgische ontwerpers.
