Hays was the honoree of that year's banquet awarded the 1938 Gold Medal Award of Achievement for " . a spirit inseparably connected with the development of the industry to the high position it enjoys today" and "as the representative of this great industry"motion picture industry. Hays was most famously known as the first President of Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America MPPDA which under his guidance published a blacklist of actors and workers studios should not hire inserted moral clauses into actors' contracts and published an informal list of suggested guidelines for film producers. When the Catholic Church formed its Legion of Decency and threatened nationwide boycotts of movies Hays installed a more formal production code called the Hays Code later simply "The Code" which became the virtual law of Hollywood until the 1960s. The Poor Richard Club was privately-founded in Philadelphia in 1906 and comprised mainly of persons in the advertising industry. In schwedischer Sprache an den Schriftsteller, Schauspieler und Regisseur Adolf Schütz (1895-1974), u. a. über des Singspiels ‘Vita Hästen’. - Nils Poppe, in den vierziger Jahren ein Filmkomiker von Weltruf, wandte sich nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg vermehrt dem ernsten Fache zu, wo er u. a. in Ingmar Bergmans ‘Das siebente Siegel’ zu sehen war. - Adolf Schütz, häufig unter dem Pseudonym George Roland veröffentlichend, war nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg als Schauspieler, Regisseur und Theaterintendant tätig und verfaßte Theaterstücke, die an internationalen Theatern zur Aufführung kamen, u. a. ‘Der große Bluff’, ‘Diktatur der Frauen’ und ‘Dixie und Axel an der Himmelspforte’. Nach dem deutschen Einmarsch 1938 emigrierte er nach Finnland und 1940 nach Schweden, wo er 1949 die Staatsbürgerschaft erhielt und weiterhin als erfolgreicher Film- und Bühnenautor - er schrieb etwa 50 schwedische Filmdrehbücher - tätig war. - Ein Br. auf Briefpapier mit gedr. Seit Ende der 1940er Jahre wirkte sie dann wieder als Schauspielerin am Theater der Untern Stadt in Bern und stieß 1952 zum neu gegründeten Atelier-Theater Bern, wo sie bis 1972 rund sechzig Rollen verkörperte.

Sendet "ihrem Dichter viele Grüsse und Wünsche für’s neue Jahr". - Die in Magdeburg geborene Schauspielerin, Tochter des um 1860 geborenen Sängers, Regisseurs und Schauspielers Franz Porten, stand bereits sechzehnjährig in Kinderrollen auf der Bühne, trat 1906 in ihrem ersten Film ("Apachentanz" von Otto Messter) auf und war bis 1958 in über 80 Filmen zu sehen. Noch vor Asta Nielsen und Pola Negri als erster deutscher Filmstar in den Anfangstagen der Cinematographie in Deutschland gefeiert, war sie zeitweise in 8-10 Filmen pro Jahr auf der Leinwand zu sehen, heiratete 1921 in zweiter Ehe den Arzt Wilhelm von Kaufmann-Asser, der die Leitung der Henny Porten Film-Produktion GmbH übernahm, und gab 1930 in G. W. Pabsts "Skandal um Eva" ihr Tonfilmdebüt. Nachdem die Firma mit Carl Froehlichs "Königin von Preußen" (1931) in Konkurs gegangen war, erfuhr ihre Karriere zwar kurzzeitig einen Einbruch, doch war sie zwei Jahre später mit Hans Steinhoffs Tonfilm-Remake ihres 1924 von Carl Froehlich gedrehten Erfolgsfilms ‘Mutter und Kind’ wieder erfolgreich. Als Inbegriff der blonden deutschen Frau und Mutter prädestiniert, zu einer Filmgröße der nationalsozialistischen Zeit zu avancieren, weigerte sie sich dann beharrlich, sich von ihrem jüdischen Mann zu trennen und erhielt längere Zeit keine Angebote. Erst 1943 erhielt sie in Carl Froehlichs Film "Familie Buchholz / Neigungsehe" neben Elisabeth Flickenschildt und Gustav Fröhlich wieder eine Hauptrolle. 1947 versuchte sie sich wieder als Bühnenschauspielerin, konnte jedoch, zumal ihr Typ im Film nicht mehr gefragt war, ungeachtet einiger weniger größerer Rollen nicht mehr an ihre alte Karriere anknüpfen. - Auf Briefpapier mit gepr.
