La colección de grabados de la Biblioteca Nacional se puede considerar una de las más importantes del paÃs tanto por su cantidad como por su calidad. Conserva obras de los mejores artistas desde finales del siglo XV hasta la actualidad. A través de estas obras se pueden estudiar los diferentes estilos artÃsticos desde el último gótico hasta las últimas tendencias del grabado actual y las diferentes técnicas del grabado desde la xilografÃa hasta las nuevas técnicas digitales pasando por las técnicas calcográficas la litografÃa la serigrafÃa las técnicas aditivas y las técnicas digitales. Están representadas las principales escuelas del grabado principalmente europeas destacando la colección de grabado español.
