Fine original 19th century tinted lithograph. Image size ca. 220 mm X 160 mm. Paper size ca. 315 mm X 240 mm. Artists' and Publisher's names printed below image. In overall fine condition. (Few spots, mostly in margin; miniature triangular stamp just touching image area.) - - Beautifully decorative and delicately executed set of lithographs, drawn on stone by the artists father and son van Looy. The prints were pulled by the famous stone-lithographers firm of S. Lankhout & Co., of The Hague, and published in 1881 by Publisher Gouda Quint, of Arnhem. Scarce.

RARE! 7 ORIGINAL LITHOGRAPHS by Pablo Picasso, in folder format, from an unknown publication (no details within), probably circa 1954. All seven lithographs are based on the same templates used for the 1954 Verve no. 29-30 publication. Presented in folder format. The folder itself is an additional (8th) lithograph, very similar to the one used for the cover of "The Human Comedy", printed on harder, criss-crossed cloth paper. Also included: a small photograph of another Picasso print, in b&w. 330x250mm. Soft folder format, with larger red and white lithograph serving as cover for the other lithographs. Folder split halfway along the spine. Front cover stained in several places. Edges worn around cover and all lithographs. One small tear affects cover and all lithograph frames near the corner. Only one lithograph very slightly damaged by this tear. No bending, creasing or staining inside. [SUMMARY]: Overall, this extremely rare collection of original Picasso lithographs is in good condition.

A Collection of Copper Engravings by William Home Lizars [NO OFFICIAL TITLE]
RARE unique collection of 71 copper engravings by renowned Scottish artist William Home Lizars (W.H.Lizars), who was made famous through the painting-like quality of his engravings. His works are well known to book collectors, as he provided a great deal of Sir Walter Scott's books with illustrations and vignettes. Most of the engravings in this volume depict Scottish landscape and landmarks. Additionally, the volume contains views of London, Dublin and Edinburgh, several portraits, genre paintings and illustrations to Tobias Smollett's "The Adventures of Roderick Random". Each page contains a single engraving, and is followed by a sheet of protective wax-paper. There is no title page, meaning this volume was not mass-printed, and is very likely a unique creation. 210x140mm. Unpaginated. Marbled board Hardcover. Gilt page edges. Cover and spine slightly worn. Cover edges and corners bumped and worn. Pen inscription on second white page. Some of the protective sheets damaged (either creased or have minor tears). The pages containing the engravings are undamaged save for natural aging (yellowing pages and a few faint age-stains). [SUMMARY]: This unique volume of much prized works of art is otherwise in very good condition.

Volume 1 includes 44 engraved plates (incl. fold-out plates). Volume 2 includes 45 engraved plates (incl. fold-out plates). [BOTH VOLUMES]: 200x255mm. [VII+440] + [IV+487] pages. Red/maroon half-leather rebound Hardcovers. Parts of original spine pasted on as labels rebound spine. Original spine labels worn and peeling. Spine edges slightly bumped. Most printed plates have created "shadow" age-stains on either the previous or the following page. Text block edges browning. Pages yellowing, slightly wavy and age-stained. RARE! COPY No.52 of 200 copies SIGNED BY ARTIST - ARTHUR KOLNIK, printed on Lana paper (altogether were printed 1126 numbered copies, only 226 of them signed by artist). This album is the HEBREW version of a hasidic story by the great Yiddish writer Isaac Leib Peretz illustrated by the renowned Jewish painter and printmaker Arthur Kolnik (1890-1972) who was born in Stanislaviv (today Ivano-Frankovsk), Ukraine and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the studio of Professor Joseph Mehoffer. After an exhibition in the United States of America in 1921 settled in Chernivtsi and moved to Paris in 1931 where he worked as illustrator. Tel Aviv Art Museum organized a major exhibition of his works in 1968. 320x240mm. 25 pages. 20 woodcuts. Unbound double sheets with softcover. Each woodcut protected by a layer of transparent foil. Red lettering on front cover. Cover yellowing and slightly dirty. Front cover detached from rear cover. Cover edges tattered. Whitepages yellowing/age-stained. Pages slightly yellowing. Woodcuts in mint condition. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare copy of illustrated Jewish prose has sustained some external damage to cover, but is otherwise in very good condition.

Saul Raskin (1878-1966) was an eminent Russian born American artist, writer, lecturer and teacher, best known for his depiction of Jewish subjects, and illustrations of Jewish classic Jewish religious books: Ethics of the Fathers, Passover Haggadah and the five scrolls. This album contains an extensive selection of Raskin's etchings and drawings on Jewish themes with English and Yiddish texts. 350x275mm. 140 pages.
