Conception claire, logique, materiaux raffines constituent les traits caracteristiques d?une production qu?il realise frequemment en collaboration avec son frere jumeau Jean. A partir de 1923, ils exposent ensemble aux principaux Salons et, lors de l?Exposition des Arts decoratifs de 1925, ils presentent leur propre stand sur l?esplanade des Invalides, ainsi qu?un grand meuble dans le hall de l??« ambassade francaise ?» et d?autres meubles dans le pavillon de La Maitrise. En 1928, Jean Adnet devient directeur du service des etalages des Galeries Lafayette, tache a laquelle il consacrera desormais une grande partie de son activite. Dans les annees trente, Jacques Adnet utilise de plus en plus le metal et le verre. Piet Boon is een bekende naam in ontwerpland en de klanten staan in de rij om van zijn diensten gebruik te maken. Hoog tijd dus voor een boek waarin Boon zelf laat zien waar het bij hem om draait. Kenmerkend voor Piet Boon is zijn grote voorliefde voor natuurlijke, klassieke materialen, die op een moderne manier gebruikt worden. Les annees 30 sont par ailleurs celles de la creation de l'UAM, dont elleest l'un des membres fondateurs aux cotes de Robert Mallet-Stevens, mais aussi de sa rupture ideologique avec Le Corbusier, qui va l'amener, a l'oree de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, a faire cavalier seul.
