A highly pictorial souvenir program prepared by Paramount for sale at early screenings of the multi-award winning comedy based on a screenplay by George Axelrod loosely based on Capote's novella. Directed by Blake Edwards the film starred Audrey Hepburn as "Holly Golightly" George Peppard and featured Patricia Neal Buddy Ebsen Martin Balsam and controversially Mickey Rooney as Holly's sensitive Japanese upstairs neighbor "Mr. Yunioshi." The upper wrapper features the iconic image of Hepburn in evening wear with a cat over her shoulder and an exaggerated cigarette holder. Publicity paper related to the first release of this film has long enjoyed a cult demand staying just ahead of the availability of the sought after material. ‎<p>La Quinta California April 23 1975. 1975. Fine. - Over 70 words typed on his 10-1/2 inch high by 7-1/4 inch wide embossed personal stationery. Frank Capra thanks the recipient for his "cheery letter with so many button-popping comments about my book and films. They are as welcome as heady wine." The book to which he refers is his autobiography "The Name Above the Title: An Autobiography" published in 1971. He goes on to write that "It was particularly delightful to hear that you are so knowledgeable about the Bell Science Series. Those films are my own personal pets." Signed in full "Frank Capra". Folded for mailing else fine.</p><p>The Italian-American film director Frank Capra 1897-1991 won 3 Oscars for Best Director. Among his films are "It Happened One Night" "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town" "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and "It's a Wonderful Life". The Bell Science Series consisted of nine television specials made for the AT&T Corporation and were initially broadcast between 1956 and 1964. ‎1968. Autograph note signed from noted screenwriter Carl Foreman to producer Daniel Selznick executed on Foreman's production company stationery Open Road Films Limited in London. In the letter Foreman agrees to meet with Selznick to discuss a project Selznick is working on for Universal. Included are two photostat copies of related letters from Selznick to Foreman going into some detail about the proposed project. <br/><br/>Foreman is best known for having written the original screenplay for "High Noon" after which he was blacklisted by the HUAC and was forced to move to London where he remained for the most of the rest of his life. Subsequent to his move Foreman wrote a number of other notable screenplays including "The Sleeping Tiger" 1954 "The Bridge on the River Kwai" 1957 and "The Guns of Navarone" 1961. <br/><br/>Daniel Selznick the son of David O. Selznick is best known as a producer for films such as Peter Bogdanovich's "Targets" 1968 and various documentaries about Hollywood. His association with his father allowed him many opportunities to meet and correspond with numerous actors actresses and directors of note. <br/><br/>Note: 5 x 4 inches. A stark black comedy in which Gordon stuck caring for his senile mother becomes increasingly frustrated with his inability to have a love life due to her interference. The first of Carl Reiner's early directorial efforts intended to push the envelope of comedy including graphic descriptions of sexual assault and war violence against the Vietnamese. The original ending which was omitted before theatrical release for being too risqué shows a defeated Gordon climbing into bed with his mother finally assuming the role of his long-dead father in an incestuous climax.<br/><br/>Set and shot on location in New York. <br/><br/>Blue titled wrappers.
