The film is represented in test shots set design shots and many candid moments from the set including dramatic high-contrast images of starring actors Bardot amply represented in the collection and seen in nearly every image off-camera with the cast and crew spinning records on a portable player and traveling by plane and train. <br/><br/>Most keybook photos with 12 images per sheet and a few have been trimmed to only a few images per sheet amounting to over 1700 images captured. Nearly all images with series number bordering the image but unlike similar examples from France all sheets lack credits for the photo laboratory film studio film title and often the photographer. A few with cropping annotations in holograph pencil on the image a few with brief annotations on the verso in holograph ink and two loose photographs with ditto-style mimeo snipes on the verso crediting original title Boyer Vidal Bardot and Boisrond. Housed in a blue paper 2-ring binder with French title mounted on the front with cello tape. <br/><br/>Boisrond's fourth directorial credit is a comedy starring Bardot as the flirtatious daughter of the prime minister of France who marries a member of the cabinet Vidal who happens to be a womanizer. Taking control of the situation she has an weekend affair with a prince Boyer and ultimately reunites with her husband after somewhat passive apologies. <br/><br/>Most keybook contact sheets and 3 loose photos 7 x 9.25 inches binder slightly larger and 5 loose photos 5 x 7 inches. Adua convinces them to pool their savings to open a restaurant to generate a living instead of returning to prostitution. Their permit is rejected because of their lurid history but a former client agrees to buy the building and hire them to run a brothel fronting as a restaurant charging them rent. The restaurant is ironically successful and Adua even romances Piero Mastroianni but her landlord's excessive rent finally vanquishes her hopes for a brighter future. The collection both predates and postdates November 1 1961 generally considered the original release. <br/><br/>A small invitation "for two" doubles as a folding RSVP for the October 17 showing at the Cyrano theatre in Villeneuve-sur-Lot a Southwest France commune with the Lot River running through the middle. The invitee's RSVP is unsigned. The two remaining pieces are from a slightly later November 15 1961 showing at the Gaumont-Palace in Nice in the Southeast of France the Riviera. A folding invitation stamped in blind with the theatre's coat of arms credits the president of the Societe Nouvelle des Etablissements Gaumont Jean Le Duc suggests formal wear and the invitee has inscribed in holograph blue ink in French "one chair." A large program accompanies printed by Havas for the Gaumont-Palace showing details film credits and synopsis greetings from the Gaumont and advertisements for businesses in Nice. Collection of 269 vintage black-and-white photographs for the 1959 French film. <br/><br/>The collection consists of two unique and complimentary pieces one being a film still keybook with 68 contact prints of small format negatives most with 12 images per print amounting to over 800 images captured. Nearly all images with series number bordering the image and credits at the top for photo laboratory Tele-Photo film studio Cinedis film title and photographer Rosselle housed in a 2-ring paper binder with original French titles. The other piece is nearly 170 smaller photographs elegantly presented mounted with cello tape on thick stock in a "Lavis aquarelle" brand spiral bound notebook with maroon faux leather front wrapper. Series numbers and small "x" annotations in holograph ink on the pages several with small white borders and several with series number on the verso in holograph pencil. Photos without borders also have series number at the edges etched in the original film negative before photo development as on the keybook prints. Nearly all photographs have numerical annotations in holograph pencil on the versos a few smaller photographs have rubber-stamps on the versos crediting Richard Pierre film titles director Bastia and costars Alfred Adam and Noel Roquevart. Also included are 27 loose photographs a few with rubber-stamps on the verso crediting starring actors and French film titles and a small press packet from Cinedis detailing film credits synopsis and star biographies. <br/><br/>Starring actors Richard and Pierre are amply represented in the collection and seen in nearly every image mostly in their official uniforms. Actress Zuber is equally present in striking high-contrast images cuddling bunnies fishing at a river and wielding a rifle. The notebook depicts images seen in the film while the keybook depicts on-the-set sequences test shots candid moments and images of the crew; the loose photos show both candid and action shots. <br/><br/>An expansive perspective of a little seen comedy about a gendarme who travels to a small town looking for a disappeared woman a town known for its distrust of police officers. This listing also includes a pamphlet of character designs for the film. <br/><br/>A milestone in the history of Japanese animation heralded as the first animated feature to successfully disrupt the Walt Disney paradigm and seen as one of the first to intentionally address an adult audience. Isao Takahata's directorial debut and the first major film of famed Studio Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki who worked on scene design and key animation for the film. Ostensibly a film about young boy living in ancient Scandinavia who must help instill a community to fight against a great oppressor it carried a strong pro-union and pro-Socialist subtext as Takahata and Miyazaki were staunch union organizers.
