Pencil notes on upper wrapper some corner creases shallow nicks to fore-edge of last leaf; good but incomplete. An incomplete copy of this version of the "Revised Final Draft" of Rossen's adaptation of Warren's novel. Rossen also directed the multi award-winning November 1949 release starring Broderick Crawford John Ireland Mercedes McCambridge John Derek and many others. A special prefatory leaf notes that as of 19 November the character name 'Floyd Covington' will be changed to 'Floyd McEvoy." It is difficult to assess precisely how many leaves were not included in this copy sent to "Mr. Bernstein" according to the pencil note on the upper wrapper but a copy of the "3rd Revised Final Shooting Script" dated 1 March 1949 included a total of 140 leaves. Scripts for this film are surprisingly uncommon and although the current example is hobbled at best a preliminary examination of early sequences shows it differs significantly from the final film. A stark monochrome poster by artist Andrzej Krauze for the Polish theatrical release of the 1972 made for television film adaptation of Capote and Cooper's story "The Glass House" here rendered in Polish as HOTHOUSE. Tom Gries directed the multi-award nominated film which starred Vic Morrow Alan Alda Clu Gulager Billy Dee Williams et al. As a made for television film publicity paper for the original U.S. release would have been minimal hence the posters for European theatrical releases are significant and in this case artistically important. An original daybill poster for the Australian release of the 1949 film adaptation of Faulkner's novel based on a screenplay by Ben Maddow directed by Clarence Brown and starring David Brian Claude Jarman Jr. Will Geer et al.
