The poster has been folded four times with the reverse on the outside. All four corners have several tiny pin holes and ther are two corners with bumping. The poster is for the most part clean and bright without chips edge nicks or fading. The Reverse of the posterhas red ink stamped notations: "2001 Space Odyssey followed by 1 SH D /103G on the bottom corner of the reverse of the poster. "US style D poster was created for 'wild' pastings on New York City walls subways and temporary structures. MGM commissioned this poster for the film's 70 mm re-launch in New York City in 1969. This poster features the star child floating in an iris. The release of the 70 mm film helped to make it a commercial and critical success. As this poster was designed for 'wild' pasting only unused posters could have survived. On top of this fewer were printed as they were only used in New York City and other metropolitan areas." from Sothebys "2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 epic science fiction film produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick. Two large colour lithograph advertising posters sized 38.25 x 51 in. and 28.75 x 38.5 in. respectively both bearing the Golden Trumpeter logo as rendered by noted artist Robert Reinhardt von Liski minor dustsoiling creasing faint dampstain to very lower right fore-edge of larger poster minor closed tears neatly repaired light age toning still both bright VG- copies now mounted and shrink wrapped on archival foam core. The Hart Schaffner & Marx logo for men’s fashion was first created by Edward Penfield in 1914 with the trumpeter bearing an upright lance but the next year had turned into a trumpet and would continue on HSM suits until the late 1980’s. Hart Schaffner & Marx was founded in 1887 by Harry and Max Hart Marcus Marx and Joseph Schaffner. By the early 20th century they owned dozens of small garment factories around Chicago and was one of the first tailoring/garment manufacturing firms to become unionized. They continued to grow through the 20th century and by the end of the 1960s had 38 factories and 250 retail stores around the country. The Company continues to operate under the Hartmarx label and is one of the leading men’s clothing wholesalers to this day. Von Liski 1908-1991 was a noted self-taught artist and commercial artist who worked for various studios and was a partner in a Chicago advertising agency. Collection of eight colour-printed Nianhua posters the central images onlaid within a stiff red paper border with a thin cream paper frame worn and discoloured and at the top of each a fine aqua paper border; the sheets a little creased two of the images with a visible tide-mark minor edge tears not affecting the images strengthened neatly on the verso with washi one with an early paper repair to the verso of the margin approx. 93 x 51.5cms sheet size in good condition. Eight Nianhua posters six feature traditional narrative tales one based on a woodblock print one possibly of a movie heroine and one other features a pair of chubby toddlers holding a tray of peaches and flowers symbols of longevity and abundance. . unknown

Poster advertising the Jim Rose Circus Show in Seattle 1991
Seattle: Jim Rose 1991. First Printing. Loose sheet. Good. Photocopied poster measures 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Old staple holes and rippling due to exposure to weather. Founded in 1991 the Jim Rose Circus Sideshow came to prominence to during the ascendancy of Seattle's grunge scene. Widespread popularity was achieved with the inclusion of the act in the 1992 Lollapalooza festival. Features on television shows generated even greater popularity.<p>This poster is for one of the troupe's earliest shows held at the Ali Baba a restaurant on Capitol Hill that featured belly dancing; a couple years later the restaurant was transformed by Linda Derschang Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman into Linda's Tavern a hotspot for the music scene. Scarce. Flyer is now housed in a removable clear archival sleeve. [Jim Rose] unknown

Publisher's cardboard box, with the titles on the top board: "12 Superior English Made lantern slides". Handwritten: "Red Riding Hood". Signs of rubbing on the box. A stop in the split lid at 2cm. On plate 9, paper is missing which circles the plate in a border. On plate 12, the black part has a small scratch, this part encircling the medallion which is projected by the lantern. Otherwise collection in excellent condition. Millikin & Lawley carried out their trade in magic lanterns and plates between 1860 and 1900. [FRENCH VERSION FOLLOWS] Série complète du conte du petit chaperon rouge sur 12 plaques de verre peintes à la main et destinées à une lanterne magique, l'ancêtre du projecteur et du cinéma. Boite en carton agrafé de l'éditeur, avec sur le plat supérieur les titres suivants : 12 superior english made lantern slides. Manuscrit : Red riding hood. Traces de frottement sur la boîte. Une arrête du couvercle fendue sur 2cm. Sur la plaque 9, manque du papier qui cercle la plaque sur une bordure. Sur la plaque 12, la partie noire est grattée sur 1cm, cette partie ceinturant le médaillon qui est projetée par la lanterne. Ensemble en excellent état. Millikin & Lawley exercèrent leur commerce de lanternes magiques et de plaques entre 1860 et 1900. La date donnée à cette série du petit chaperon rouge est indicative.

Thus Chagall, Picasso, Fautrier (of whom his was the assistant and close friend during the last years of his life), Foujita, Cocteau, Lurcat and Mathieu will visit his studio to engrave their hand on lithographic stone. Lorriaux will not have the time to finalise his project and only a few attempts will be carried out.
