Pièces de titre et de tomaison en maroquin rouge. Un petit manque en tête du tome II. Traces de frottements. Un coin émoussé. Une trace de mouillure sur un plat, une épidermure. Bel exemplaire, particulièrement frais. Récit de voyage en Espagne qui se caractérise par son exactitude et ses nombreuses descriptions des monuments, son étude des moeurs et son intérêt étendu pour la jurisprudence, la littéarture, le théâtre, les costumes, le commerce... Selon Quérard les détails de ce voyage "étant d'une fidélité parfaite, [ils]ont servi de guide aux dessinateurs employés à la confection du Voyage pittoresque en Espagne". Richard Ford considère l'ouvrage comme "Un travail admirable, et l'un des plus corrects..." En outre, c'est une des première relations de l'Andalousie et de Grenade dont la découverte fut très tardive pour les européens. L'auteur entre en Espagne par la Catalogne, visite Barcelone, Morviedre, Valence, Alicante, Murcie, Carthagene, Grenade, Cadix, Seville, Tolède, Madrid.
