‎76 gravures dans le texte en noir et blanc, certaines pleine page, principalement des vues de l'Irlande, 1 portrait, ainsi que 2 partitions. Certaines éditions mentionnent une carte hors-texte, elle est absente de notre exemplaire 1ere édition en volume de 1891, ce récit est sans doute d'abord paru dans le Tour du Monde Contents, Chapitres : Dublin - Les montagnes de Wicklow - Waterford et Kilkenny - Le royaume de Cork - Les lacs de Killarney et le comté de Kerry - Limerick et la côte de Clare - Galway et les hautes terres du Connemara - L'île d'Achill - Sligo et Enniskillen - Londonderry et les Highlands de Donegal - La Chaussée des Géants et la côte d'Antrim - De Belfast à Dublin - Marie-Anne de Bovet, née Anne Marie Bovet à Metz le 12 décembre 18551, est une femme de lettres française féministe et patriote. - Elle commence en 1889 par publier des récits de voyage. Elle participe enfin à plusieurs revues et journaux français et anglais et donne des traductions douvrages anglais. Elle est donc parfaitement bilingue. Dès 1888, Marie Anne de Bovet fréquente le salon de Juliette Adam et entre ainsi à La Nouvelle Revue où elle sexerce à la critique littéraire. Elle voyage ensuite en Irlande pour le compte de La République Française, journal de Gambetta, qui a été un proche de Juliette Adam. Elle écrit également beaucoup pour La Vie parisienne, qui se fait une spécialité des tableaux de murs et des différentes modes en cours à Paris et ailleurs. On peut noter sa participation au journal féministe La Fronde, fondée en 1887 par Marguerite Durand, où elle écrit régulièrement des articles, parmi lesquels « Ménagère ou Courtisane » du 9 décembre 1897, où elle sen prend à Maupassant et Proudhon pour leurs discours sur les femmes, et « LÉternel Féminin » du 22 décembre 1897, où elle conteste justement cette notion, et rejette la catégorisation des femmes. Marie-Anne de Bovet proteste ainsi contre les préjugés misogynes et défend lintelligence féminine. - Grande voyageuse, on peut remarquer quelle écrit essentiellement sur lIrlande (elle y consacre trois ouvrages) et sur lAlgérie à la fin de sa vie, mais elle visite également lÉcosse, la Grèce et la Pologne. Ainsi, si aujourdhui elle est largement oubliée, elle fait partie du monde des salons, de la vie mondaine et de la littérature populaire de la fin du XIXe siècle et du début du XXe siècle. De 1893 à 1930, elle aura publié pas moins de 35 romans, outre ses autres ouvrages. (source : Wikipedia) Bel exemplaire, la reliure est en très bon état, assez élégante, très légère décoloration du dos, intérieur frais et propre, quelques très rares rousseurs discrètes en début d'ouvrage, cela reste un très bon exemplaire de l'édition de 1891 de ce récit de voyage en Irlande, tiré d'un Tour du Monde, bien complet de toutes les gravures, sans la carte qui est présente dans certaines éditions (sans doute ajoutée dans l'édition de 1908 où il y a 35 gravures de moins que dans celle de 1891)‎
