Jänner 2024) in der Steiermark, im steirischen Salzkammergut, Bezirk Liezen und Gerichtsbezirk Liezen. Bad Aussee gilt als der Hauptort des Ausseerlandes. (Quelle Wikipedia) ----- Franz Hollwöger (1887?1979) Schuldirektor und Heimatforscher - Wer sich nur im Geringsten für die Vergangenheit unserer Heimatgemeinden interessiert, kommt an Hollwögers Werk ?Ausseer Land ? Geschichte der Gemeinden Bad Aussee, Altaussee, Grundlsee, Mitterndorf und Pichl? nicht herum. Als Nachschlagewerk ein unbedingtes Muß ! Franz Hollwöger wurde in Bad Aussee als Sohn des Schuhmachermeisters Franz Hollwöger sen. im Hollwögerhaus (Hauptstraße Nr. 147) geboren. Nach Absolvierung der Lehrerausbildung in Linz kam er zuerst für kurze Zeit nach Kumitz und nach den ersten beiden Berufsjahren in Mitterndorf 1908 als Grundschullehrer nach Grundlsee, wo er ab 1928 als ?Oberlehrer?, bis zu seiner Pensionierung blieb. 1935 wurde er ehrenhalber zum ?Schuldirektor? ernannt, in der Zeit seines späteren Ruhestandes wurde er noch zum Oberschulrat befördert. 1913 heiratete er Gisela, die Tochter des damaligen Schuldirektors, Emmanuel Geyer. Mit ihr bewohnte er die Dienstwohnung im Schulgebäude. Nach dem Krieg wechselte die Familie Hollwöger in das Haus von Emmanuel Geyer, wo Gisela ihren Vater bis zu seinem Tod 1948 betreute. Das Haus Bräuhof 89 wird landläufig ?das Hollwögerhäusl? genannt, erscheint aber im Häuserverzeichnis aus unerklärlichen Gründen als ?vlg. Rastl?. Franz ist dort 1979 verstorben, Gisela im hohen Alter von 102 Jahren im Jahre 1995. Nach dem 2. Weltkrieg wurde Hollwöger wegen ?vermeintlicher politischer Vergangenheit? mit Schulverbot belegt. Er wurde ohne Bezüge pensioniert, eine Pension wurde ihm erst 1950 im Zuge der ?Entnazivizierung? zugesprochen. Franz Hollwöger, der Heimatforscher: Im Zuge der Einführung der staatlichen Standesämter 1938 (dem Hitlerregime ging es darum sogenannte ?Dorfsippenbücher? zu erstellen) wurde Hollwöger vom ?Rassenpolitischen Amt der der NSDAP? beauftragt, die Kirchenbücher auf Karteikarten zu übertragen und genaue Statistiken und Stammbäume zu erstellen. Er wurde dabei von mehreren Mitarbeitern unterstützt. Die gesamte Arbeit ging nach dem Krieg in den Besitz des Kammerhofmuseums über. Hollwöger über diese Arbeit und seine Auftraggeber: ?Ich stand zwar unter einem gewissen Druck, doch fühlte ich mich willig, weil es für mich eine interessante Arbeit war ?? Bis 1945 wurden rund 45.000 Standesfälle karteimäßig erfasst, danach wurden die Arbeiten vom Historischen Verein für Steiermark als ?genealogische Forschungsarbeit? bis 1955 fortgeführt. Viele Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit fanden dann Eingang in das oben genannte Buch ?Ausseer ?Land?. Der Forschergeist spornte Hollwöger weiter an, viele Geschichten von Familien und Häusern zu erarbeiten, die im ?Ausseer Tagblatt? veröffentlicht wurden. So zum Beispiel die Familiengeschichte der Schraml (Bräuhof 14), Rastl (Gößl 19), Kronhütter (Archkogl 6). Alle diese Abhandlungen, ja die gesamte Forschungsarbeit von Franz Hollwöger liegt im Kammerhofmusum verwahrt und steht für Auskünfte bereit. Ein Kommentar zu Hollwögers Forschungsarbeit: ?Nur wer selbst aufs Engste mit dem Ausseerland verwachsen ist, wer es aufs Genaueste kennt und liebt, durfte diese schwierige Arbeit auf sich nehmen?. Zu erwähnen ist schließlich, dass Franz Hollwöger für seine bedeutende Arbeit geehrt wurde, in Grundlsee mit der Verleihung der Ehrenbürgerwürde 1961, in Bad Aussee mit der Verleihung des Ehrenringes 1979.
