As a new discovery, an Arabic manuscript book is found recently which has an unlighted identity and content that is progressively being analysed in detail. Interestingly in a few texts written in Turkic of the manuscript, Turkic phrases "olga" and "bolga" are both used, indicatively both Eastern Turkic and Western Turkic features can be seen in the texts. And thus, indications of the Turkic language Seljukian which has an "hybrid" grammatical specialities are determined in the texts of the manuscript. The texts are on the illuminating point of the Turkish language history from the perspective of their lingual historical era and for the progression in the centuries of the Turkish language. Grammatical specialities of the texts are also very important for the researches on the history and sources of Turkish language and literature in terms of increasing the present accumulation of knowledge. This book comprises the first results and stage of the analyse and reconnoitre on the manuscript which is conserved as an important discovery. Following results and stages of the research in order to get advanced conclusions are planned on the manuscript. In this work, methodologically at first, general physical features and the condition of the manuscript are clarified and a philological commentary on the Turkish language era of the texts, transcription, translation, detailed grammatical index and facsimiles of the 4 Turkic texts existing in the manuscript are presented.

Between the Jews, Christians and all others who claim Jerusalem as their history holy city, the Turkish rule was longest in the history of the Holyland. First Seljukids, Artuqids and Zangids, and after that Mamluks from (1250 to 1516) and lastly Ottoman Turks ruled (from 1516 to 1917) in Jerusalem and surroundings. But despite this long rule, the Turkish heritage and contribution to Jerusalem is often overlooked or underestimated in the literature. In this book there are 122 inscriptions from Jerusalem and other parts of Ottoman Palestine mostly published for the first time. All the inscriptions are accompanied by recent photos on paper and CD-Rom, so that one can check the inscriptions and the authors interpretation and reading. There are also detailed maps of the location of the inscriptions.

This book is a study of the Ottoman military and diplomatic involvements in Iran during the critical years that followed the collapse of the Safavid dynasty. Contrary to the image of an Empire that followed largely passive and defensive policies in the early eighteenth century, this study will reveal that the Ottoman Empire was remarkably proactive in this period. The Ottomans under the political leadership of Damat Ibrahim Pasha (d. 1730) designed their Iranian policies during the 1720s with a distinct awareness of European international politics as well as of local Iranian politics and with the aim not just to protect but also to improve the position of the Empire in a changing global order. Diplomacy constituted an important dimension of the Ottomans' engagements in Iran, culminating in the 1724 Partition Treaty with Russia, which arranged for the division of the Safavid territory between the Ottoman and Russian empires. War-making constituted the other facet of Ottoman engagements in Iran, and was motivated by complex military, strategic, administrative and economic calculations. Finally, their engagement in Iran brought the Ottomans in contact, and for a time, in conflict with another power, the Afghan invaders of Isfahan. In the religio-legal disputes with the Afghan ulama, the Ottoman side evoked a universalist understanding of the caliphate in anticipation of trends that historians have conventionally dated to the late nineteenth century.

"The discovery and rescue of the mosaics of Zeugma, the ancient Greco-Roman crossing point on the Euphrates, is regarded as the most important recent archaeological event. The book comprises some of the pavements on display in Gaziantep Museum, Gaziantep, Turkey. Zeugma, like the rest of the region was destroyed by the Sassanian king Shapur I in 256, when he raided the eastern lands of the Roman empire. Although the town showed some recovery in the early Byzantine period, and still served as a crossing, this was not comparable with its ancient glory. Thus it is not surprising that while the earliest of the mosaics discovered at Zeugma dates from the late first century CE, the latest belong to the period before the destruction. Almost all of the damage seen in the recovered mosaics, especially in the parts made of glass mosaic cubes, is the result of the fire which accompanied the Sassanian sack of 256. Research has shown that the tesserae of these mosaics were mostly produced from the coloured stone collected from the banks of the Euphrates, and supplemented by glass tesserae for missing hues such as dark green, orange, or light blue.".
