First Printing Near fine in 1/4 tan cloth and decorated paper covered boards with white text on the spine and on the front board with a blind embossed decoration. A small octavo measuring 8" by 7 1/4" with a prior owner's book plate roughly removed from the front paste down an embossed name and address on the first free end page with the same on the rear paste down. Oddly the binding on this book was staple bound and the steel staples have reacted with the glues in binding and are showing rust stains in the gutter of the front board. In a near fine dust jacket with a hint of soiling to the upper edge of the spine area and to the upper edge of the rear panel. The lower corner of the front flap of the jacket is clipped; however the upper corner of the flap shows the price "$3.50 GMC". 56 pages of text and illustrations by Maurice Sendak.
