Raro planisfero pubblicato a Venezia dalla tipografia Remondini ed occasionalmente inserito nel Dizionario geografico portatile, 1761.Interessante mappa del mondo presentata nella proiezione di Mercator e centrata sull'Australia.La Groenlandia è mostrata collegata al Nord America. Il titolo riporta che la mappa fu approvata da Daniel Bernoulli (1700-1782), medico, fisico e matematico olandese, attivo a San Pietroburgo e in Svizzera. Acquaforte, consuete pieghe di carta, leggere ossidazioni, per il resto in ottimo stato di conservazione. Unusual world map by Remondini, taken from Dizionario Geografico portatile. Greenland is shown connected to North America. According to the title the map was approved by Daniel Bernoulli (1700-1782), Dutch physician, physicist and mathematician, active in St. Petersburg and Switzerland.Printed by Remondini, who was a famous publisher of prints and books all with a popular character. He flourished in Bassano in 1661 and was active until 1860.Founded by Giovanni Antonio Remondini (1634 - 1711), the house reached its peak in the second half of the eighteenth century, under the leadership of Joseph Remondini (1745 - 1811).

Very Good Turkish Paperback. A manuscript notebook. Roy. 8vo. (23 x 16 cm). In Turkish (Modern). 145, [10] p., schemes. Toprak hukuku, 1942-1943. These extremely rare and unpublished manuscript notes on 'land law' or 'real property law', were taken by a student between the years of 1942-44 during Mardin's lessons in Istanbul University. Very legible script. Fine manuscript with extra papers inside. Mardin was a Turkish jurist, academician and politician. He was one of the ends of the Ottoman Empire and the firsts of Turkish Republic lawyers. He worked as a lecturer at Istanbul University during his whole life, where he graduated, and became a professor of the Civil Law. He ws born in Shkodra. Extremely rare.

First published in 1602 long out of print and now a very rare volume it is still the most entertaining of all guidebooks to that county and a vivid record of life in Elizabethan England. But it is of much more than regional importance; it is one of the best prose books of its period and a minor classic of our language. Carew's other works are scarcely known today for most of them have never been reprinted and are virtually unobtainable. Yet the great quality of his prose was first shown in his EXAMINATION OF MEN'S WITS; GODFREY OF BULLOIGNE is one of the first of the great series of Elizabethan translations; THE EXCELLENCY OF THE ENGLISH TONGUE is an important critical essay containing an early reference to Shakespeare and A HERRING'S TAIL of which only three copies are known is among the most amusing of Elizabethan fantasies a mock-heroic poem in which a snail attacks a weather-cock on the spire of Uther Pendragon's tomb at Tintagel. The present volume contains almost the whole of the SURVEY all that is most interesting to the reader in this second Elizabethan age making it available for the first time in a convenient modemized. and annotated form. Toponyms are Turkish in Latin transcription script as well as their ancient names in Roman and Greek. Including Afiun Karahisar [Afyonkarahisar] and its south and southwest area. Ascanius Lavus, Djemal Bey Tschiftligi, Macropedium, Asi Karaaghatsch, Denizli, Cretopolis, Sozopolis, Isparta, Tabenerum Campus, Hynera (Cydrara), Anaua Lacus (Adji Tuz Gölü), Ishikli Eumenia, Panasium (Banas Ovasi i.e. Plain), etc. It's one of the 24 sheets of 'Karte von Kleinasien'. Rihard Kiepert was a German cartographer born in Weimar. He was the son of famed geographer Heinrich Kiepert. Richard Kiepert studied geography and history in Berlin and Heidelberg. In 1870, he traveled in Palestine and Asia Minor, returning to take part in the Franco-Prussian War. In 1874, he received his doctorate of philosophy at the University of Jena. From 1874 until 1878 he worked on the compilation of Ferdinand von Richthofen's atlas of China, and from 1875 to 1887, he was editor of the geographical periodical Globus. From 1902 until 1908 he worked on the Spezialkarte von Kleinasien, a map of Asia Minor that was created on a 1:400,000 scale. After his father's death in 1899, he continued the work on the elder Kiepert's classic Formae Orbis Antiqui.
