Es wird mir ein Vergnügen sein, mein Versprechen morgen einzulösen [...]". - Nach dem Besuch des Wiener Konservatoriums, wo er 1851-57 Violinschüler Böhms war, arbeitete Bachrich für einige Zeit als Kapellmeister an einem kleinen Wiener Theater, bevor er 1866 für drei Jahre nach Paris ging. Wieder in Wien, wurde er Bratschist im Hellmesberger-, später im Rosé-Quartett; seit 1869 war er Mitglied der Wiener Philharmoniker und des Hofopernorchesters sowie Prof. am Musikkonservatorium (vgl. DBE).

Zusammen 3 SS. An einen namentlich nicht genannten Theaterdirektor mit dem Ersuchen um die Reservierung von Sitzplätzen. - Bachrich war bis zu seiner Pensionierung Mitglied der Wiener Philharmoniker. Auch als Kammermusiker umtriebig, widmete er sich vor allem der Musik Robert Schumanns, die damals als modern galt und noch recht wenig bekannt war. 1869 trat Bachrich dem Hellmesberger-Quartett bei, wo er aber nur zeitweise mitspielte. Arnold Rosé verpflichtete ihn bald nach der Gründung seines Quartettes als Bratschisten (1890). Verschiedene Kammermusik-Werke von ihm kamen so zu ihrer ersten Aufführung. Zudem war Bachrich Mitarbeiter der "Neuen Freien Presse", für die er vor allem Feuilletons über seine Begegnungen mit Musikern und Komponisten verfaßte.
